Tuesday - Fair of Face

There's so much going on in my head today. It's a busy place but still there is a sense of serenity... like a well-oiled machine! And yes, there will be some little rat to throw a wrench into the traffic - just to remind me I'm still one sick puppy! Oh, how my mind can still be a terribly wasted thing! But at least I have MOMENTS of Clairity these days. They last longer than they used to as well.
It's important for me to focus on what is real instead of the stories I tell myself.
I spent the morning with a dear friend who testified in family court as an expert witness on addiction. The man in the divorce wanted unsupervised visits with a child even though he can't stop using cocaine.
OK, first, just being there with opposing sides standing huddled near each other - strategizing - really strange energy fields.
Second, there were so many lawyers doing all of this strategizing. Thirdly, LISTENING to the bullshit coming out of their mouths, their clients mouths and their opponents mouths... UGH! It made me laugh - then it made me sick. What a waste of frickin' energy! "I WANT, I WANT, I WANT" ("I'm afraid, I'm afraid, I'm afraid!")
If we did a reality show about divorce court - maybe it would help people WAKE UP! It's funny how Gay Marriage "divorce" ends up in CIVL court. NO pun intended, by any means!

COURAGE

My second sponsor told me that "courage is fear that has said its prayers".
Today:
~~ I have courage to look at the fear that blocks me from loving others exactly as they are
~~ I see courage in others who do the work needed to experience "freedom from bondage of self"
~~ I am being courageous in seeking to be happy, joyous and free - COMPLETELY
~~ Jose shows me courage in taking us down a different path
~~ Men in my life show courage when they face their sexual shadows
~~ My friend Chris shows courage in facing his medical issues
~~ Two other friends of mine showed courage in doing a process to heal their relationship pains
~~ Grace shows courage when she stands up to the "big dogs"
~~ I am courageous when I walk through my fears about being a leader
~~ Anytime anyone of us has the courage to walk into the "unkown" - it is a blessing
~~ I am courageous when I am myself - without thinking or worrying about what others may think of me
from Wikipedia:Courage is the ability to confront fear, pain, danger, uncertainty or intimidation.
The precise view of what constitutes courage not only varies among cultures, but among individuals. For instance, some define courage as lacking fear in a situation that would normally generate it. Others, in contrast, hold that courage requires one to have fear and then overcome it.
There are also more subtle distinctions in the definition of courage. For example, some distinguish between courage and foolhardiness in that a courageous person overcomes a justifiable fear for an even more noble purpose. If the fear is not justifiable or the purpose not noble, then the courage is either false, or foolhardy.
Famous Quotes:Courage is being scared to death— and saddling up anyway. ~ John Wayne
Courage is like a muscle; it is strengthened by use. ~ Ruth Gordon
Courage is like love, it must have hope for nourishment. ~ Napoleon Bonaparte
Courage is not the lack of fear. It is acting in spite of it. ~ Mark Twain
Courage is rarely reckless or foolish... courage usually involves a highly realistic estimate of the odds that must be faced. ~ Margaret Truman
Courage is rightly esteemed the first of human qualities because it is the quality which guarantees all others ~ Winston Churchill
